After graduation from Princeton and Princeton Theological Seminary, serving Lutheran churches in New Jersey, Bill McMorran spent 10 years in Washington D.C. developing AARP's national tax and health programs. This included working closely with IRS and Congress in tax legislation, taxpayer education and volunteer outreach.
His first major consulting project was to develop and administer the Long Beach CA Social HMO. This was the integration of a capitated system that would provide both health and in-home support services to improve independence and reduce hospitalization. The SCAN Health Plan and the SCAN Foundation are outgrowths of this initial effort.
In 1986, he formed Green Oak Consulting Group to develop planned giving and fund development services for healthcare, arts and older adult charities. Green Oak has grown steadily offering consulting, administrative, investment, trustee and actuarial/underwriting services to an array of charities across the country.
Green Oak is a National Business Member of Leading Age, a Sponsor of the American Council of Gift Annuities and a member of the national Giving Institute, as well as a member ofthe Editorial Board of Giving USA.
An ordained Presbyterian minister, Bill is a regular speaker at many national conferences as well as at several state and local events, focused on fund development and healthcare. He is the current Consultant in Residence for the 2020 and 2021 annual Presbyterian Association of Homes and Services {PAHSA) Philanthropy conference.
He is a faculty member of the Senior Living Institute, Lead Reviewer of the "Bequests" and "Foundations" chapters of Giving USA 2020 and contributed to the Giving USA publications, "Giving and the Golden Years" and "Leaving a Legacy".
Ms. Bohmke brings over 25 years of planned giving and resource development experience to the Green Oak team. Prior to joining Green Oak, she had served as the National Director of Planned Giving for the Alzheimer's Association, as well as planned and major giving staff for national organizations such as St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. Mary has also served Seattle organizations such as Pet Partners and the Seattle Symphony as Director of Endowment.
Her passion lies in ensuring brighter futures for charitable organizations. She fulfills this by creating significant planned giving programs based on donor engagement and education along with critical technical support. She is also active in her Seattle community developing programs that serve the homeless and women's services.
Mary is a recognized expert in her field and a frequent speaker for nonprofit groups and professional associations alike. She is a former President of Washington Planned Giving Council and is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®). She has presented planned giving presentations for the Greater Snohomish Community Foundation and Leading Age WA.
Mrs. Learned has been providing customer service for over 30 years. She has worked with Macys, Liz Claiborne and Emporium in training staff to meet and surpass customer expectations. Kathy joined Green Oak in 2012 to strengthen its client services.
She has been an effective group leader and now oversees Green Oak's Charitable Gift Annuity programs. As a result, she has become an expert in the nuances of theCA Department of Insurance CGA process, in addition to managing multiple clients through the P/G Calc Giftwrap program.
Kathy received her B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from California State University, Chico.
Raising three children, Kathy has been involved in each oftheir school programs, volunteered many years with Lincoln Youth Soccer as a board member and as a team manager. If you need to find Kathy on the weekends you can maybe catch her at a soccer game, working in the yard or enjoying time with family and friends.
Ms. Valdez has been a CPA for over 25 years. She has worked with small business owners, individuals, and family foundations to ensure fiscal and tax integrity. This includes stepping in as acting Controller for her clients. She has worked with a regional Public Accounting firm and done forensic accounting to identify a case of embezzlement.
Joining Green Oak in 2014, Jill has applied her specialized skills to make sure that all trusts and program valuations are complete and accurate. She is responsible for maintaining Green Oak's program integrity and oversees all aspects of charitable trust and endowment administration. Jill received her B.S. in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting from the University of Washington in Seattle.
Jill stays involved in her community through volunteer service with a variety of organizations. She has four children and is a dedicated parent. Jill enjoys spending time with her children and extended family, church events, traveling, cooking, and gardening.
Ms. Rahn is a 25-year seasoned fundraising strategist and Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) working to transform under-performing non-profit enterprises into thriving high achievement organizations.
Her broad experience in closing major gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations, on regional and national levels in healthcare, social services and youth development services, has guided her path to explore and focus on the hidden and too-often overlooked opportunities that secure significant funding through planned giving.
Joining Green Oak Consulting Group in 2020, Ms. Rahn brings her planned giving passion, focus, expertise and experience to help non-profits create or accelerate their planned giving programs for long-term success, while also helping to provide creative and viable so lutions to prospective planned gift donors.
Ms. Rahn holds a BA in Political Science and a BA in French from The University of California at Irvine, and is completing her Certified Specialist in Planned Giving (CSPG) credential. She is a member ofthe Estate Planning and Trust Council of Long Beach and Los Angeles Council of Gift Planne rs. Ms. Rahn serves as chair of the Endowment Committee for Assistance League of Long Beach (ALLB), of which she has been a 25-year member. Through ALLB, Ms. Rahn also serves as an active volunteer mentor to at-risk high school students through ALLB's mentoring program "CAMEO", and also serves on the organization's fund development committee.
Ms. Rahn is married to Al lan, an executive coach and management consultant, and they have a rescue dog named Artu ro Bandini. Ms. Rahn is active in two book clubs and enjoys biking, hiking and yoga.
John Quigley leads Green Oak's Health Applicant Screening services (HAS). John provides the critical guidance to CCRCs in reviewing their applicants' risk for eventually utilizing long-term care services.
John has been involved in various aspects of underwriting individual medical and long-term care insurance. His early career focused on the field of medical underwriting during which time he reviewed over 30,000 individual medical records on consumers applying for health insurance. While employed by Aetna Life and Casualty, he rose to the position of Chief Underwriter.
Through Avon Long Term Care Leaders, John began to work with Green Oak's HAS program in 1998. At the time, Avon was the largest long-term care reinsurance company in the world, conducting business not only in the United States, but also in the United Kingdom, Western Europe, Hong Kong and Israel. As Vice President of Long-Term Care Underwriting there, John was responsible for a unit reviewing 12,000 LTC applications per year.
Since 2015, John has worked exclusively for the Green Oak HAS program and has access to a team of underwriters and actuaries in support of the program's needs.
John currently resides in Niantic, Connecticut with his wife Paula (R.N.). They have three sons and nine grandchildren. John prides himself on providing top rate service and quality recommendations to the Green Oak communities he supports.
Lori Keane has been in the insurance industry for over 35 years as a Senior Underwriting Consultant. She has underwritten Major Medical, Medicare Supplement, Life Insurance and Long Term Care having been employed by several large insurers. Lori was an employee of Avon Long Term Care Leaders where she evaluated CCRC submissions and has been a Consultant with Green Oak since September 2019.
